Lingerie Stores

August 23, 2012

Who names stores and how do these people come up with the names?

At the mall last night I saw a new store. New to me. It was called Change. What do they sell I wondered. Do they just make change all day long? I peeked in the store. Bras and panties. That’s all.

Add this store to the list of confusing ladies undies store names.

La Senza. What language is that? Is it Spanish for bra. I don’t know.

La Senza Express. Same as La Senza but faster. Just the thing for the lady in a rush for a fresh pair of panties.

Aerie. Again language. French or something.

La Vie en Rose. Okay I know that’s French. Life in rose or pink or something.

Victoria’s Secret. Babe, it’s no secret. You nekkid.

The only under-garments store I found that had a name that made sense was Calvin Klein Underwear. An underwear store with the word underwear in the name. Brilliant!

In case you’re wondering, I get my under-garments at Sears. They have good prices and selection for the portly yet well-endowed gentleman.

Yes, but what about for you? HA! Gotcha! Thanks for the setup. :)

I get my gitsch at Sears. They also have a good selection for the slender yet hung like a horse gentleman. Such as I myself.

Depending on the size of the products, maybe they could name the store “Sail.”

Sail already taken by an outdoorsing store.
I’m waiting for a store called Granny Panties. Their slogan could be “Everybody’s gotta have one.”

The Spanish word for bra is sostén. So are you saying portly and well-endowed are usually mutually exclusive? (Your use of the word “yet” is what made me ask.) Senza means “without” in Italian, so the name of this store is grammatically incorrect. You asked.

    Senza, without.

Without dignity, self respect, shame. Take your pick.

Perhaps the people who come up with names for bands are the same ones that come up with the names for lingerie stores.

Combine the two. Lady Gaga bras.

Your first problem was the fact that you were at a mall expecting the place to make some semblance of sense.

    I crave logic.
