The Wedding Game

January 14, 2013

20130114-110539.jpgSo my friend Bob is getting married.
I know I know, why buy the cow when you get the milk for free? Well, Bobbette wants to buy a cow. Who am I to tell her no.
I received an invite to the wedding. The RSVP cards asks for the guest to request two songs to be played at the wedding.
I wonder if Bob realizes this is probably the most difficult question I’ve ever been asked. (Now he does as he will most likely read this blog post.)
You can’t ask me to pick a song.
Do I pick a song I like?
Do I pick a song Bob likes?
Do I pick a song Bobbette likes?
Do I pick a traditional wop wedding song?
Do I pick a song that will make me laugh but nobody else will get the inside joke?
Do I even waste my time and effort picking the perfect song only for it not to be played at all?

Hm, is this for the ceremony itself or for the party afterwards? I assume it is for the party afterwards, in which case I would go for some really cheesy songs that everyone can dance to.

    Bon Jovi!!!!!!!!

He’s from New Jersey you know.

I wish Bob would blog more about his upcoming wedding! I don’t even know when it is! Hey, Bob! When’s the wedding?!

And you’ll do fine picking songs you enjoy. I bet Bob won’t mind even if they’re not his favorites. He’s going to be pretty busy that day.

Bobs wedding is on the 13th hour of the 13th day of the 13th month.

You can’t go wrong with David Bowie.

Well yeah I know that. But do they?

Modern love or something from black tie white noise?

Pick a song that reminds you of them, and pick one that defines your friendship with Bob, or Bob and Bobette.

Seriously, when is the wedding?! We don’t even know when to send a card! Can one of you email me? Pretty please?

Okay. Baby got back it is.
