Sure beats a trip to the glue factory

February 25, 2013

There have been plenty of reports of horse meat being found in food throughout Europe.
So what?
There’s nothing wrong with horse meat. People have been eating horse meat forever. Besides, it’s a leaner meat.

I have no problem with eating horse meat if:

    A. I know that is what it is

    and

    B. It is good meat and has been slaughtered properly.

My problem is that we have been fed horse hidden in with beef. Recent events have also revealed terrible conditions in horse slaughter houses in the UK..Finally, there is a stupid law that allows the owner of a horse to declare whether it is fit to eat or not. God knows what sort of nastiness has been introduced to our food by people who just want the cash for their worn out old horses!

But offer me a good horse steak and I will happily tuck in!

I’m glad I avoid red meat all together. I’ve missed out on pink slime, e-coli and now horse meat.

Nope, nothing wrong with horse meat. I think it’s a regular over in some Asian countries, too. But, it’d be nice to get cow when you’ve ordered cow. I don’t like the bait and switch thing.
