My thoughts on the new Royal Baby…

The new prince is named George. I must say, George is quite the popular name. Or at least, popular amongst popular people. Here is a list of some random popular Georges past and present:

  • George Washington, 1st President of the United States of America.
  • George Clooney, actor in such films as Return of the Killer Tomatoes and Leatherheads.
  • George Michael, pop singer best known for songs like Faith and I Want Your Sex.
  • George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States of America and still the butt of many jokes.
  • George Clinton, the funkiest man alive
  • George A. Romero, zombie fetishist.
  • Curious George, the small monkey pet owned by a man who wears far too much yellow.
  • George Takei, Japanese-American nerd icon.
  • George Washington Carver, legume enthusiast.
  • George Stroumboulopoulus, talk show host and professional brown-noser.
  • George Zimmerman, gained notoriety through an event that is too recent to make light of.
  • George of the Jungle, poorly animated Tarzan knock-off.
  • George Lopez, that guy on TV with the really big, square head.

But of all these famous Georges, something tells me the Royal Baby’s name was chosen because it commonly occurs in his family’s lineage.

And now I turn the discussion over to you. Who is your favourite George? I’ll get the ball rolling, this is my favourite George.

Mad King George was the first thing I thought off…
    And Georgie Porgie…

I thought George of the Jungle was good fun – the first one, anyway.

Still laughing about the legume enthusiast…hilarious post! What about Stephanopolos?

I fulfilled the lists obligatory One Greek George with Strombo instead.

George Foreman, and all his progeny of Georges.

From your list, I think I’d go with George Washington as my favorite.

But the Foreman grill is better than the Washington skillet.

I like the Spanish version, Jorje, which is pronounced “Horhay”.
