Weekend Recap

September 30, 2013

Friday night I told my mother I was taking her out for the day on Saturday.
I’m not saying. It’s a surprise but wear comfy shoes.
Saturday morning I drive her into the city and by this convention centre. Her first clue to where she was happened when the parking attendant asked me “Are you going to the baking show?” My mother flipped out.
So I took my mother to the Toronto Baking and Sweets Show.
Are you familiar with the phrase “Like a kid in a candy store?” That was my mother.
We saw how to make a slinky out of sugar. We saw a guy make a wedding cake top out of doughnuts. I’m never getting married but I’m having that cake.
Sunday I caught an Impractical Jokers mini-marathon. Best TV show right now. I’m still in pain from all the laughter. My whole body is in pain. I laughed so hard I fell down from a seated position and flipped over an ottoman.

Friday – we went to see a movie based on a book series Bobette has been reading. The 1st movie spoiled the 3rd or 4th book in the series.

Saturday – Went to a pig roast hosted by a bike gang.

Sunday – Went to the last Jays game of the season. Somehow before we left Oliver escaped the house. We didn’t find out until we returned home and he didn’t greet us at the door. Found him in the backyard, he was outside for 8 hours.

With subsequent books spoiled, you now have a valid reason to tell Bobbette not to make you watch that crap thus freeing you to see Machete Kills.

Sounds like fun, and a super-great surprise for your mom.

Speaking of baking, my friend showed up the other day with a box of absolutely HUGE donuts from a new bakery called “Glory Holes”. I wondered if you’d hear of it or tried their goods. I would post a link, but I’m afraid that if I Google “glory holes” at work a siren will go off and authorities will show up to arrest me.

I’ve heard of it. I’m also afraid to search for it.

    Donuts…and cake…that’s Nirvana.

Donuts as the wedding cake. Kinda makes you wanna have another wedding just for the cake.

    You’re a good son. :)

And, apparently, a sated and happy one too!

I’m the best son. And fat enough to qualify as two sons.

What a great day out for your mum! Hope you bought her some good gadgets, like a rice centrifuge!

Why? So she can slaughter thousands of Indians? I don’t think so.

Sugar slinky? Did you take a picture!

That was a nice thing to take your mom to the baking show.
